Our projects are certified according to the recognized Forest Climate Standard (WKS) of the eva foundation or according to the ISO 14064-2 standard. The WKS is a standard developed specifically for German forest projects that takes ecological, social, and economic criteria into account and is regularly reviewed. ISO 14064-2 certification is carried out by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH or TÜV Austria, which is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to validate and verify climate protection projects.

Pina Earth offers four types of nature-based climate protection projects: forest adaptation, improved forest management (IFM), nature reserves, and ARR (afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation). All projects serve to store CO₂, promote biodiversity, and increase the resilience of forests.

The additional CO2 storage capacity is quantified using Pina Earth's technology-based approach in three steps: 1. A digital twin of the forest is created using forestry data from the project area. 2. The planned forest adaptation measures are implemented over 30 years in our forest growth simulation and compared with a reference scenario. 3. An external auditor, such as TÜV Nord, visits the project area and reviews the project report. After successful validation and certification, the emission certificates are issued.

Wie wird der Preis für ein CO2-Zertifikat bestimmt?

Prices are based on the specific project, the available volume of credits, the geographical location, current supply and demand conditions, and the standard used. The type of certificates—i.e., whether they are CO₂ removals or avoidance—also plays a role. Our goal is to make prices fair, market-driven, and transparent.

Pina Earth develops certified forest climate protection projects in Europe. Following its merger with Tree.ly, the company is now headed by Jodok Batlogg (CEO) and Christian Lutz (CCO). Together with forest owners, Pina Earth develops projects that increase the CO₂ storage capacity of forests and ensure their sustainability.

These include high-resolution photos, videos, and descriptions of the projects, claim consulting with text modules, social media post templates, communication examples, and much more.
